Back to reality

After two whole months of vacation the day where it all ends is here. It's a sad story about duty, responsibility and less free time. How will I manage?

1. Get organised! It's the clue for everything always, but this time I will get it done. Timetables and to do lists, everything to get ahead and not behind the ever so famous schedule. I've got plenty to organise: new job, studies and private projects.

How? Use my diary and write everything down. Also like to use OneNote, think it's easy to manage and a great tool for notes and planning.

2. Enough sleep! A struggle since I tend to worry a lot. The worrying often leads to triple checking and lots of extra work just in case.

How? Need to calm down and drink a cup of tea, then get to bed. Organisation will help me here, since it will give me a overview on what I need to do and when.

3. Variety! You can't do the same thing and dwell on the same problem all the time. Variety is the key.

How? Leave room for free time in the schedule and fill it with enjoyable activities. Relaxing in the sofa, plant a tree, go camping, knit a sweater or anything that is relaxing and make you think of other than work.

4. Friends! Spend time together and talk. They are great for that stuff. Get the frustrations about work and all that out of the system. Enjoy some gossip, drink coffee and eat a waffle.

How? Get it in to the schedule, plan ahead and make appointments. The "call when you got time" never happens in my world.

5. Exercise! Should not be placed under free time, but daily chores. It's important for health and mood. Spend an hour on exercise and you will feel happier than if you eat that chocolate.

How? Find an hour in the morning or afternoon, go for a run, ride a bike, do some yoga. Do anything that make you feel better. Most important, DO IT!

6. Do it! It really is the most important thing. It's always better to be done than wait to do it tomorrow. You feel better and have the possibility to be more productive, and it makes you feel better!

How? DO IT!

This list contains what I need to do and what I want to do, but if everything goes like it always does the system will crash after almost a month. Then I will become frustrated, stressed out and ready to quit everything.

Hoping for change!

Sincerely

Mrs von Kvenna
