Needlebinding class

I've been lazy, not been doing any crafts lately. But this month I joined a needlebinding class. The class have the same teacher as the medieval garments class I participated in this summer.

Needlebinding is an old technique, also known as viking knitting. This class gave me a peek into the technique and possibilities. Three evenings we were gathered, six students and one teacher, in a total of nine hours.


The first time we learnt two different stitches and a little about needlebinding history.

The second time we learnt four-five new stitches and practised a lot.

The third time revolved around imaginative use of the stitches.

A really nice technique to know and I have lots of ideas for projects. Mittens, hats and shawls will be made.
