First day of 2015

A day not much different from other days, but the first day of a new year. The kid doesn't take a day off and that's why we do stuff rather than sit and relax. To day we are trying to put up the ceiling at the first floor.

In between I manage to sit down and think a little bit. And this is the day for thinking ahead. I've got no new years resolutions, but I've created a list over things I wish to do within the next year.

Sonja's to do list 2015

1. Get the house cleaned up: This does not mean it's a sty.. hehe. Only that it lacks a clear system. We have been building for over a year and now it's time to get things in place. On the ground floor are we soon finished and the clutter will disappear to their rightful place. It will be bliss to finally be able to use whole our living room again. The first floor have a longer way to go, but I have my hopes up.

2. Be more sustainable: This is something I really care about. Get the garbage into the right bin, buy less and produce some food in our own garden. It' really simple and good for everyone. Can't understand everyone that only see the material side to life, it seems so empty.. The point is to live, do and make, I think.

3. Use the outdoors: I love hiking and crosscountryskiing, two things you have to be outside to do. Did not do much of this in 2014, but hope to spend more time in the mountain this year, it's the best way to loose stress. As for the crosscountryskiing I'm waiting for the snow.. It's really late this season.

4. Read more: I love books and would love to spend more time reading. For Christmas I got a new Kindle Paperwhite and look forward to hours of reading. I also hope the Kindle will help me a bit on being sustainable, by not buying heaps of regular books that needs lots of polluting processing. And it helps me control the clutter, we don't really have room for more books..

5. Start selling things: For many years now I've been planning to start selling things I make. The problem is that I tend to over think it. I get great ideas and become very excited and then I get tired and loose confidence in it. This process goes on and on.. But now! I met a great artist just before Christmas that told me about her method. She has several projects going on in parallel, and she switched on working on the different projects and timed herself. Both things seemed interesting and I am adopting the method. I've always thought that I need to be finished with one project before I start another, but if I only get tired and loose interest it don't get me anywhere, does it? Therefor new times, new method!

6. Get a driving license: This is a project I started six or seven years ago, but am now motivated to finish. Driving is one of the most scary things in the world to me, because I must trust other drivers.. Something I don't. But I need it, badly. Living in the countryside is not easy without it.

7. Learn language: I like to use my brain and don't like the feeling of it slowing down.. Therefor I need some brain exercise and learning language is perfect. To keep my English to a usable level I read novels in English and write this blog. But now I want to do a bit more. For a long time I have been Watching anime, this has made me motivated to learn Japanese. I've been playing around with it for a long while practising kana and stuff, but now I want to step up to a new level. Now I'm planning on getting textbooks and practise for real!

We'll see if this is going through.. I will write.
