Fabric stash - Mori

Last week I went to a fabric store hoping for leftover fabrics. I had made a list in my head of what I wanted and went to hunt.

I totally scored! Seriously seldom incident, I never get this lucky.

My list was not very exclusive or long, but I've started dreaming about a new project and needed something to get started.

The project:

For the last month I've been really nostalgic, been watching Buffy.. This has leaded me to remember back on good old projects involving goth- and lolita wear. Frequently I browse Pinterest for inspiration and there I stumbled upon this:

Gingham dress
Les Ours

This is The Project. It's going to be inspired by the Japanese street style Mori Gal (Mori Girl), that means forest girl. The style involve looking like you just stepped out of the forest, wearing layers of natural and neutral materials. I've got some examples:

The shopping list:

My inspiration leads me to my shopping list. I was after light and flowing fabrics and this is what I bought;

Cheese cloth

Plain woven linen

Soft tulle

Soft tulle

Happy fabric stack

All fabrics except the linen are light and flowing, and will do great in a layered dress. The linen will be used to make a layer that is not transparent. These fabrics will work nicely together with other fabrics in my stash and I'm really looking forward to getting started!
