Bedroom makeover

The house I live in is very old, almost 200 years old. Last time it had a makeover was in the 50's which means a lot of draught and chipped paint. We fixed our kitchen and got a bathroom last year, but now the bedroom is the big issue. The room gets to cold during winter, it feels like you land on a block of ice when you jump into bed, brrr..

Therefore my wonderful husband has stripped down the room and now we are about to isolate the walls and ceiling. The house is made out of logs so we use a special isolation made out of cellulose that will let the house breathe. It's totally different from isolation like Rockwool. This kind of isolation is soft and really easy to work with. If you want more information on this visit their website: Feeling Wood.

Our bedroom is also a bit long and narrow, so to make the most out of it we have decided to split the room with a wall with a sliding door in it, behind this wall we are going to have a walk in closet. It's genius, we will end up with rooms in better proportions and no pile of big furniture in the bedroom, nice.

To preserve the house old aesthetics we have ordered a wood ceiling, a bit similar to the original ceiling in my study, and we are going to paint it white. Our wooden floor from the 50's will get some new varnish. And the walls are getting a beautiful wallpaper made by Cole & Son. The wallpaper is dark, but we like it. Dark walls in a room made for romance and sleep, it could not be better.

I'm really looking forward to it's done!
