From sampler to something useful

I've recently made some samplers of sashiko embroidery. In stead of making lots of samplers and then just put them in a folder or something, I like to make an useful product.

This time I have made some purses, first a small coin purse and then a pencil case. They are not completely done, only need to fasten the lining. But here you get a sneak peak.

The coin purse is very small, it fits nicely in a palm. It's made of my second sashiko sampler, a reclaimed zipper and a natural linen lining.

The second product is a pencil case. It's made out of my largest sampler, reclaimed zipper and natural linen lining.

Not finished yet, but will be with some small stitches made by hand.
